Using the Diagnostic Trouble Code Reader

The JARDUM display is capable of displaying Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from any device connected to the CAN or NMEA2000 bus. Typically, DTCs are sent from the engine but all devices on the CAN bus can send a message. Your JARDUM display is preloaded with a database of known trouble codes with corresponding description. If the JARDUM display does not recognize the trouble code just the code will be displayed without a description.
⚠️
If just a code is shown without description, that means that JARDUM does not recognize that DTC. You will need to contact the component or engine supplier to determine what the code means.

Active Diagnostic Messages - DM1

If there is an active fault, meaning a device is currently in a fault state, an icon will display on screen indicating fault. This icon may be a yellow triangle or a check engine light.

Pressing the “X” or close button will minimize the fault popup. To reopen press the fault icon.

Stored Engine Faults - DM2

The display is also able to read stored faults on compatible engine controllers. To access store faults go to Settings > Engine > Engine Diagnostics > Get Stored Engine Faults

Internal Faults

The fault popups are also used for certain JARDUM device system faults. These faults are called internal faults and include notifications from PDMs and JARDUM controllers.
